MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) Systems dramatically reduces the heating demand of your property. Rather than allowing heat to disperse and escape like a traditional ventilation system, MVHR recycles and filters the hot air to keep your property warm and fresh.
Because MVHR provides full time ventilation around your property, it dramatically reduces the likelihood of mould and condensation from forming. Air is filtered through replaceable units, creating improved indoor air quality that that allows for a range of health benefits. This is especially important to properties situated in areas with bad external air quality, such as industrial estates and next to busy roads.
MVHR is ideal at providing the correct balance of heat and ventilation in both the warmer and colder months. In winter, an MVHR system's heat exchanger operates to control and regulate the temperature of the filtered air. Most units include frost protection to protect the system from extreme weather during winter.
In hotter months, an MVHR system monitors the outside temperature and calculates how to make the indoor environment more comfortable. It's not essential to recover heat during the summer months, so the summer bypass will allow fresh air in and continue to ventilate your property, without recycling the existing warm air in the property.
Although we will talk you through the necessary steps to maintain your new ventilation system upon installation, we've also outlined them for you here. Filters are located on each extract valve where the majority of dust and dirt will gather. These can be removed, cleaned or replaced at ease. A grease filter is usually located in the kitchen valve to prevent any grease and other substances from entering the system. F7 and G4 filters are used to protect the system from pollen, carbon dust and more. These can also be replaced and cleaned.
For other maintenance aside from filter changes, get in touch with us to arrange an appointment.
We guarantee that our systems should operate for 10 - 20 years. Maintaining your system properly is the key to a long lifespan. Change your filters regularly. We recommend that they are changed once a year, more often in highly polluted areas.
